Spring
— Spring has a special freshness—flowers
blooming and creeks gushing with water. It's a perfect time
for outdoor events. White water rafting is at its best. It's
a great time for hiking, fishing and golf. A new season with
Art in the Park. 
Summer
— Summer is High Season. See the Blowing Rock Horse
Show. Catch a performance at the Blowing Rock Stage Company
or Horn in the West. The North Carolina Symphony comes late
in the season. Tweetsie is great for kids. Many activities for
all ages.
Fall
Colors — Fall is more relaxed. Brisk nights followed
by nice days. The tree colors are spectacular in October. Go
to one of the many stables and take a trail ride for a better
view. Canoeing, fishing and hiking are great. The Woolly Worm
Festival and Valle Crucis festival are always fun. Go see an
Appalachian State University football game. 
Christmas
Tree Season — Make a special trip to the area from
mid November until Christmas. North Carolina leads the nation
in the production of Christmas trees, and the Blowing Rock area
is the center of it all. Children will never forget a trip to
one of the local Christmas Tree farms to choose and cut their
own tree for the holidays. Warm by the fire and complete your
shopping at the Tanger Outlet stores. 
Holiday
Season — What a beautiful location for the Holidays.
It's a great time to bring family together. Cold weather, warm
fires and a good chance of snow. Yes, the Ski Slopes usually
open in late November. Cable TV offers all of the bowl games.
Ski
Season — Ski Season usually lasts from late November
through early March. Appalachian Ski mountain is less than
10 minutes away. Beech and Sugar Mountains are about 45 minutes.
All have man made snow to keep the slopes open regardless
of the weather. Appalachian also has an ice skating rink.
